Allison and I are sad to announce that we can not post a bunch of pictures and videos of Riot Fest. We will try to take as many as we can and post them at the end of the day or the next morning but we can’t post a bunch while at Riot Fest. Cell service there is horrible. Our group can’t split up because we can’t text each other to meet back up. None of the apps publish our posts. We just waste our battery life and then our phones die and we are sad.
Here is an update about Friday, September 13, 2013. Riot Fest started at 2:30 and we didn’t want to see anyone until 5:45. We slowly got ready and headed to the train station. We spent the afternoon on public transportation and walking around Chicago.
We decided to walk 2 miles to Humboldt Park because the trains and buses were packed from Riot Fest goers and commuters going home. The weather was very strange. In some areas it was really windy and chilly. In other areas it was warm and the sun was shining right on us, but once we got to Riot Fest is was just plain cold all night. That’s Chicago for you. We spent most of the night complaining about being cold haha.
At 5:45 we watched Andrew W. K. and we partied. Bobbi Jo and I left their set early to go watch Yellowcard. They put on a really good show. They were really excited and grateful to play in front of so many people.

After their set we went on an adventure to find the best food and some coffee to warm us up. After that we watched some of Bad Religion and tried to stay warm. Allison and Bobbi Jo left Megan and I and explored the Circus tent. There are so many circus freaks everywhere. It was perfect. A bunch of freaks and punks everywhere. My kind of place.
It was eventually time to Fall Out Boy and we couldn’t contain our excitement anymore. That was my first time seeing Fall Out Boy in Chicago and it was just as packed as I thought it was going to be. They played a perfect mix of new and old songs.
